Magnesium Chloride Liquid
Since 2007, Alkim has been producing magnesium compounds in a natural way, at the lake operation ponds in addition to standard sodium sulfate and raw salt production operations.
The solution on the top, which occurs after the crystallization of the raw salt (NaCl), was being transferred to another pond to advance the enrichment process for Magnesium and Potassium. Then, this processed solution is used for the magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate production.
Alkim's production capacity for magnesium chloride is approximately 15.000 tons per year. This capacity can be increased by transferring more solution using additional new production ponds.
Liquid Magnesium Chloride (43%)
For a couple of years, Turkey has been using magnesium chloride for de-icing the roads in heavy winter conditions, which is a modern way of de-icing of the developed countries for quite a long time.
Magnesium chloride usage is also gradually increasing in the construction industry, while producing the panel boards. These panel boards are very light-weight. Therefore they are preferrable to be used in the high-rise buildings and skyscrapers. Eventually, the speed of the construction gets better by using these panels. EU countries have been using these panels since the 70's. The addition of magnesium chloride to these panels while production, provides with the strength, fire resistance, and water resistance.
